Who We Are
lovePR.org was created so that church groups would be able to learn about mission opportunities that exist in Puerto Rico. Iglesia Bautista Tabernáculo de Reunión (Reunion Tabernacle Baptist Church) is nestled in the middle of the island, high in the mountains surrounded by a rain forest full of banana trees and coffee plants. Little coquí (tree frogs) chirp all day, but especially at night. Around 30 members walk and carefully drive the one-lane paved road that hugs the side of the mountain up to the church. Church starts promptly at 10 each Sunday- that's Americano time, not island time! Pastor Miguel "Mike" Madera and his wife Ludy receive everyone as family.
1500 miles away in Irmo, South Carolina is River Springs Church. Members and youth of River Springs Church have come to Iglesia Bautista Tabernáculo de Reunión at least once a year since the summer of 2009. Student ministers Eddie & Heather Crosby have fallen in love with Puerto Rico and have put together this website to help other groups know that this service opportunity exists.
